Quick start

Follow these steps to find and search Agent conversations saved on your computer.

1. Install the app

Section titled “1. Install the app”

Open the download page and choose the installer for your operating system and processor architecture. Install Context, then open it.

Context reads conversations your Agents have saved on this computer. See Supported Agents for supported apps, extensions, and command-line tools. If you do not have any local conversations yet, have a conversation in a supported client first, then return to Context to scan.

2. Scan local conversations

Section titled “2. Scan local conversations”
  1. Click Scan local conversations on the start page.
  2. Read the first-scan prompt, then click Allow and scan to continue.
  3. When the scan finishes, open Conversations on the left to see what Context found.

After you give permission, Context automatically checks for new conversations and messages each time you open the app.

To check which sources Context will read before scanning, click View scan scope on the start page. This opens Agent Sources.

If no conversations appear after scanning, see No sources found, or the scan found no conversations.

3. Open a conversation

Section titled “3. Open a conversation”

Click an item in Conversations to read it on the right. Your messages and AI replies are shown by default, which is enough for most reading.

To see reasoning, tool calls, or other content, enable those types under Display content in the conversation toolbar. See Read conversations for more options.

4. Search past conversations

Section titled “4. Search past conversations”

Enter a keyword in Search message text above the list and press Enter. For example, try travel to find messages about travel plans you discussed earlier. Each keyword must have at least two characters.

Results are grouped by conversation. Click a matching excerpt to jump to that message on the right, with the keywords highlighted.

If you cannot find content just after scanning, wait until the searchable conversation count stops increasing, then press Enter again. See Search conversations for search scope, matching rules, and ways to refine your results.
